The latest issue of the IOA’s Acoustics Bulletin has recently been released and features the award-winning Sound of the Future Project at the iconic Royal Albert Hall. The project is the biggest sound improvement to the auditorium since the installation of the acoustic ‘mushrooms’ almost 50 years prior.

Sandy Brown led the acoustic surveying, 3D modelling and specification of the new sound system which was designed by loudspeaker manufacturer d&b audiotechnik and installed by the Hall’s specialist AV Partner SFL Group. The project has been the subject of global media attention and the historic site won ‘Venue of the Year’ at the 2019 AV Awards.

Sandy Brown have also recently joined the Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA) as part of our development of specialist sound systems consultancy services.

Our membership to this organisation goes hand-in-hand with our provision of design, specification and commissioning of sound systems for a range of applications, including historic and listed buildings.
