Rob Conetta originally joined Sandy Brown as an Engineer in December 2013 having worked in acoustic consultancy for a year. Prior to this he gained a PhD in Spatial Audio Quality at the Institute of Sound Recording (University of Surrey) and worked at London South Bank University, as a research fellow with a focus on the acoustic conditions in schools. He became a senior engineer in 2017, before leaving for new pastures in 2018, returning as a principal engineer in 2020.
Rob has been leading numerous projects since his return, notably the Silvertown docklands redevelopment in East London and the refurbishment of the Ritz Hotel. His promotion to associate reflects both his project contribution and his increasing involvement in managing and training staff on his team.
Tom first worked for us in our Manchester office on a summer placement during his MEng Acoustical Engineering degree at ISVR at the University of Southampton. He returned when he graduated in 2019. Since then he has steadily increased his involvement in projects and has become the main contact on many. He has experience in office fit-outs, hotels and residential developments and has established himself as an important part of our Manchester team. He has received excellent client feedback for his work on Rochdale Riverside Phase 2, a hotel and residential development.
Martyn joined our Birmingham office in April 2019 with 18 months of experience in consultancy focused on environmental acoustics after completing the IOA Diploma and BSc Music Technology and Production degree at Derby University. Martyn has a burgeoning specialism in computer modelling and extensive experience in survey work and testing as well as experience in the design of office and residential developments. He is currently the main project engineer on the first phase of the Birmingham Health Innovation Campus.
Dilan joined Sandy Brown in August 2017, having completed a MEng Acoustical Engineering degree at ISVR, and has progressed steadily to become an integral part one of our three London teams. He has advised on many office fit-outs, leading the design on Simpson Thacher & Bartlett’s fit-out at CityPoint, Cognizant at 280 Bishopsgate, and Cinven on St James’ Square. He is also involved in residential schemes at Wood Wharf, a new life sciences tower at Canary Wharf and mentors more junior members of his team.
