Promotion news

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Zanyar Abdalrahman, Artem Khodov, Nicholas Lum and Jessica Wright to senior engineer, and Beverley Chapman to contracts manager.
The promotions reflect the dedication and progress made by all five members of staff and are thoroughly deserved.

Zanyar Abdalrahman
Zanyar joined our Edinburgh office in 2017 whilst completing his PhD at Heriot-Watt University, he is educated in multiple facets of building construction and architecture, having previously gained a BSc and MSc in Architectural Engineering from the University of Sulaimani and Heriot-Watt University, respectively.
He is currently responsible for leading the acoustic design on several projects including Maybole and Prestwick Educational Campuses, a new mixed-use scheme at Powderhall Edinburgh, and offices at Buchanan Wharf Glasgow.

Artem Khodov
Artem joined us as an engineer in our London office in 2017, after graduating from the University of Southampton with an MSc in Acoustical Engineering. His research focused on mathematical modelling of acoustic fields in non-diffuse environments.
He has been involved in a range of projects since joining us, including managing our design input on education and office projects. He has particular interest and expertise in vibration measurement, assessment and prediction.
Artem will relocate to our Edinburgh office later this month.

Nicolas Lum
Nick joined Sandy Brown in the London office as an engineer in 2017, after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a MEng in Mechanical Engineering. He has subsequently gained a range of experience in the acoustic design of offices, residential buildings, and studios. Of particular note is his work on the Shure Experience Centre and Discovery Studios in Stockholm, alongside work for Google in London and Paris.
Nick is currently involved in several key projects including the redevelopment at Tottenham Hale for Argent Related and a major tower refurbishment at Canary Wharf.

Jessica Wright
Jess started working at Sandy Brown in 2016 on a placement from Salford University and joined the Manchester office as an engineer in 2018 when she graduated.
During her time at Sandy Brown, Jess has worked on a variety of projects and has particular experience of education, healthcare and residential developments. She worked on the recently completed Copperas Hill student union building for Liverpool John Moores University and is currently involved in the design of a new stand at Anfield Stadium, including the computer modelling of the public address and voice alarm system.

Beverley Chapman
Bev started in our Manchester office as senior contracts administrator in October 2016 having worked in contracts and finance roles in the civil engineering sector and NHS.
She handles all contractual matters for the company including liaising with our clients to review and agree our project appointments. Since starting with us, Bev has developed her role improving our management of contractual and financial processes.
