BCG, 80 Charlotte Street
Project summary
The new 148,000 sqft London headquarters for Boston Consulting Group (BCG) at 80 Charlotte Street consisted of conference rooms, focus rooms, phone booths, new work lounge, café, reception and open plan offices.
All rooms were requested to be digitally enabled with video conferencing and following an audio demonstration with the client leads, we were requested by BCG to deliver high acoustic standards throughout.
Detailed design
Sandy Brown provided advice on all aspects of the design including architectural acoustics and building services noise & vibration control through RIBA Workstages 2-6.
We worked closely with Piercy & Co to develop bespoke suspended acoustic panel solutions for the open plan offices, library, cafe and reception. The extent of panels in the open plan areas was assessed in detail to provide the desired acoustic intent while exposing the underside of the structural soffit as far as possible and co-ordinating with the high-level services strategy. Specialist computer modelling software for calculating sound absorption properties was used to inform the build-up required to meet the target performance.
